Title 24 reports for Rancho Cucamonga permits.

Rancho Cucamonga runs plan check entirely digital, through its EDR (Electronic Document Review) system — here’s what that means for the Title 24 documentation in your submittal.

Local plan check

Digital-only submittal through EDR

Rancho Cucamonga’s Building and Safety Services Department reviews plans exclusively through its EDR (Electronic Document Review) system, run via the city’s Online Permit Center — the city states plainly that paper plan submittals aren’t accepted, and permits are issued by email only. Once a project is submitted, the city’s own guide cites roughly 10–15 working days for the first review (the Building & Safety page separately cites 10 business days initial / 5 business days for resubmittals). The portal’s own upload categories list “T24 energy calculations” as a named document type — the CF1R has its own slot in the submittal, not something bundled loosely into the architectural set.

Plans have to go in as a single, correctly scaled, vector-preferred PDF (color plans and individually uploaded sheets are rejected) with the designer’s seal on every sheet. A new detached ADU in Rancho Cucamonga is called out by the city’s own ADU Handbook as needing solar under Title 24 — consistent with the statewide rule (see does my ADU need solar), not a local add-on. No local energy reach code beyond state CALGreen/Title 24 minimums was found on the city’s own code pages.

One thing that doesn’t change by city: T24 Studio’s price and turnaround are flat statewide — $99 first report, $150 flat after, 24–48 hours on your first job. What differs city to city is what happens on the plan-check side before and after the CF1R lands in your permit set, which is what this page covers.

Process

How it works

  1. 01

    Send the plans

A PDF of the architecturals and the project address. If something’s missing I ask once, in one email — not five.

Mechanical and plumbing don’t have to be picked yet. If the plans don’t call out the HVAC or the water heater, I model what I’d normally specify for that job and tell you exactly what I assumed. Change any of it and I’ll rerun — that’s not a revision.

  2. 02

    I build the model

If the design does not comply as drawn, I tell you what the model needs to pass and the least disruptive way I can find to get there — your call what goes on the drawings.

  3. 03

You get it back ready to sign

CF1R registered with CHEERS, you named as the responsible designer. 3 business days — 24–48 hours on your first one. Pay on delivery: Zelle, Venmo or Cash App.

Disclosure

One honest note

I’m not a licensed engineer or architect, and I don’t stamp drawings. On the CF1R I’m the documentation author — you stay the responsible designer. Nothing about your role on the job changes.

That’s on purpose. I’m not after your scope or your clients. I do one piece of the permit set — the piece that usually holds it up — and I do it fast.

Questions

Rancho Cucamonga plan-check questions

If yours isn’t here, see the full FAQ or call and ask.

Does Rancho Cucamonga accept paper plan submittals?
No — the city's Building and Safety Services Department runs plan check exclusively through its EDR (Electronic Document Review) online system. Paper submittals aren't accepted, and the submittal format has to stay consistent (electronic) for the life of the project.
Is the CF1R a separate upload in Rancho Cucamonga's portal?
Yes — the city's EDR document-type categories list “T24 energy calculations” as its own upload slot, separate from the architectural drawing set.
Does my ADU or addition actually need one?

Almost certainly. New conditioned floor area — ADUs, JADUs, garage conversions, additions — triggers Title 24. So do alterations that touch the envelope, the ductwork, or the HVAC equipment, including a straight change-out. A remodel that only moves non-structural interior partitions usually doesn’t.

Send it either way. If it doesn’t need a report I’ll say so and there’s no charge for the look.

How fast do I get it back?

24 to 48 hours on your first job, three business days for everything after that — a date you can put on the schedule, not an estimate. If your permit deadline is tighter than that, say so in the notes; I’ll tell you honestly whether I can hit it before you commit.

Send your Rancho Cucamonga plans.

The CF1R comes back ready to drop straight into your EDR submittal, labeled the way the portal expects.
